Man City To Turn To Carew As Santa Cruz Alternative?
Word has travelled quickly to The Tavern this morning from The Mirror, with Darren Lewis claiming that Manchester City manager Mark Hughes doesn’t fancy a tussle with Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger for Roque Santa Cruz and is set to turn to Aston Villa’s John Carew.
Lewis states the obvious by reporting that Blackburn manager Sam Allardyce knows City can afford to pay for the striker and is to hold out for between £15-20million for the Paraguayan International. Despite Santa Cruz finding the net just six times this campaign after a haul of 26 last season.
This coupled with the interest in Santa Cruz from the Gunners The Mirror claims, will see City turn their attention to Norwegian target-man Carew, who has scored 15 times for the Villans this season.
So what do you think Darren has been drinking to arrive at this conclusion? Will Hughes really try to lure Carew to the Eastlands Stadium instead of Santa Cruz? Are, moneybags City really afraid of a transfer tussle with under spenders Arsenal? Should this rumour Fly or Die?
