Felipe MeloJust arriving at The Transfer Tavern is the news that the Daily Mail, say Arsenal are “preparing a renewed £15million bid” for Felipe Melo at Serie A side Fiorentina.

The paper claims that the Brazilian International has “been tracked” by Gunners boss Arsene Wenger for the last “three-years” ever since Melo was plying his trade in Spain with unfashionable side Almeria.

It said that the Premier League club “made enquiries” just before the January transfer window and then “followed up” with a “tentative” offer to lure Melo away from the Viola, but were told the Brazilian “was not for sale” by the Italian side.

Inter Milan are claimed to have “since come in with an offer” by the Daily Mail, which included Argentine Nicolas Burdisso along with “£15million” to tempt Melo to the San Siro. However, it is claimed that the Brazilian “would prefer” a switch to the Emirates Stadium.

So has there been something stronger than tea and coffee fueeling the penning of this one? Is Wenger really about to offer Fiorentina £15million for the Brazilian enforcer? Should this rumour Fly or Die?
