Spurs Eyeing Swoop For Albanian Enforcer?
Just blowing through the doors of The Transfer Tavern from the Telegraph, who say that Tottenham have their “eye” on Lorik Cana at Ligue 1 side Marseille.
The paper claiming that Spurs “could move” for Albanian International Cana after the midfielder enforcer “was told he can leave” the Stade Velodrome this summer.
It said that Tottenham’s Premiership rivals Manchester City along with Bundesliga outfit Hamburg are also “monitoring” 25-year-old Cana’s “situation” at the French side. Following, comments by OL sporting director Jose Anigo.
“It’s not that he’s shown his desire to leave,” the Telegraph quotes Anigo as saying.
“It’s simply that it’s been four years that Lorik has been here and he has the right to want to experience other things. Today we’re open to his transfer, if something happens we’ll listen.”
Cana is said to hold Swiss, Albanian and French passports, however the midfielder was “refused a visa” when Arsenal “wanted to give him a trial” earlier in his career.
So what sort of refreshment caused the writing of this tale? Are Spurs really eyeing up the former Gunners target? Will City swoop in with a big bag of cash? Should this rumour Fly or Die?
