Zaki Seeking La Liga Switch?

Amr ZakiWhispers have been coming from some of the more knowledgeable punters today in The Transfer Tavern with the latest being about former Wigan star Amr Zaki set to join Spanish outfit Malaga.

The Egyptian striker spent last season at the JJB Stadium on loan from El Zamalek and admitted that he was hoping to rejoin the Latics, who recently installed Roberto Martinez as manager, but owner Dave Whelan dampened speculation by branding the player “difficult to control”.

Blackburn Rovers were reported to be interested in capitalising from Wigan’s snub to Zaki but their manager Sam Allardyce has refuted the claims which has left the 26-year-old looking to La Liga for a move to Los Boquerones, despite interest from French giants Olympique Lyon.

So what sort of beverage caused our European cousins to spout this one? Is Zaki really angling for a move to the Spanish top-flight? Should this rumour Fly or Die?
