larsenSky Sports have revealed that Everton have taken 18-year-old Danish goalkeeper Nicolai Larsen on trial from Danish side Lyngby as they attempt to find cover for first choice goalkeeper Tim Howard with David Moyes looking towards younger players in the hopes of finding a bargain.

The youngster has appeared in reserve matches since arriving on Merseyside and it is believed that Moyes regards the teenager quite highly although his current club are unsure as to whether he will return to them or not. Lyngby sports director Birger Jorgensen told his club’s official website

“That they invite him for just one match indicates that they like his qualities. But whether it will be a permanent switch is not decided yet.”

Everton have a history of brining through some really talented players but their focus on previous years seems to have been on English talent with the likes of Wayne Rooney, Leon Osman and Jack Rodwell coming through. Now it looks like Moyes is ready to commit to the Premiership trend of signing top youngsters from all over the world and helping them develop into world beaters which he will be hoping Larsen could become should he choose to sign him permanently.
