Is Scott Parker really what Liverpool need?
Liverpool are looking to add midfielders to their squad following the injury problems of Alberto Aquilani and their failure to replace Xabi Alonso and The Sun are claiming that West Ham’s Scott Parker is the man for the job. The West Ham man has seen his career ruined somewhat by injuries but has regained full fitness and could be the subject of a £6 million bid which cash strapped West Ham may be unable to turn down.
Parker, 29, may have seen his chances hurt by injury during spells with Newcastle and West Ham but Liverpool fans will remember that he was a very good player back in the day, excelling for Charlton and earning a big move to Chelsea where he stalled briefly. Despite his injuries Parker has still looked a good player when fit and was named West Ham’s Player of the Year last season.
Liverpool are keen on Parker for his combative style and passing ability and he would prove good competition for Steven Gerrard, Yossi Benayoun, Alberto Aquilani – if he can stay fit – , Lucas and Javier Mascherano if the latter does stay amidst reports of a move to Spanish giants Barcelona. It is believed that Parker could be a big help to Liverpool’s ambitions to get back to the Top 4 following their poor season so far, which has seen them knocked out of the Champions League early and also look capable of missing out on a Top 4 spot for next season.
[Is there any substance to this and should this rumour Fly or Die?]

We need replacement for a Monster Masch who is likely to leave for a few dollars more, though I must say Masch played his heart and guts out game after game. The cynic in me doesnt think that Masch will stay long. YNWA
Big fan of Parker but not sure he can cut it at a team like Liverpool although you never know as he has matured a lot since his time at Chelsea
