Toure brothers set for Spanish reunion

tourebrothers_870693Spanish daily Sport is claiming that Manchester City defender Kolo Toure has been offered to a number of clubs by his agents, who are unhappy with things at Eastlands, and is on the verge of being offered a move to Barcelona where he would link up with his younger brother Yaya.

The 28 year old defender only moved to City this summer just gone as one of their big money purchases but Toure is reportedly extremely unhappy with the way things are going – City have won just one of their last ten games and a lot of blame has been placed on the defence with Toure and partner Joleon Lescott failing to perform to their best abilities. The unsettled Ivory Coast international is thus looking for a way out and Barca may offer him one.

Barca are well aware of Toure’s ability as the centre back was previously part of Arsenal’s “Invincibles” squad and has been viewed as a top class defender. Barca would also be encouraged to move for Toure by his younger brother who is thought of highly in Catalonia and is a valuable member of their team. The prospect of the brothers linking up for the Spanish champions is a prospect that their fans like the idea of and there will be few in Barcelona opposed to the suggested move.

Whether City, who splashed out around £12 million for Toure, will be willing to sell so readily is yet to be seen and Barca would also be wary of the fact that Toure will be ineligible to play through January as he will be going to the African Cup of Nations.
