Countdown to the start of the next transfer window:

Spurs reject Blues bid for Pav

According to The Daily Mail, Birmingham City have had an £8million bid for rejected by Spurs. The imminent arrival of Monaco forward has seemingly spelt the end for Pavlyuchenko and could also put ’s future at White Hart Lane in doubt.

Spurs value the Russian at £10million and will, no doubt, try to recuperate as much of the £14million they spent on the player in 2008.

West Ham had thought that they had sealed a deal for Icelandic international Gudjohnsen before news broke of a last ditch effort by Spurs. Despite, having a medical at Upton Park, Gudjohnsen is in favour of a move to Spurs. New West Ham co-owner reacted angrily to the news.

Speaking to PA he said “We thought we had a deal and the player had even had a medical. We then heard that Tottenham were trying to speak to the player. I can’t say I am happy about it but I believe in Karma and what goes around, comes around.”

What goes around certainly will come around if West Ham are able to prize away unsettled striker . Despite being team captain, Keane has found himself third choice of late, mainly down to the hot form of Jermaine Defoe and Peter Crouch. Manager has insisted the Irishman is part of his plans but it will be interesting to see if the 29-year old is content to stay on the bench if the offer of first team football is available elsewhere.

With 3 days left, the transfer Merry-Go-Round involving Birmingham, Spurs and West Ham is approaching an interesting climax.

Reject any offer for Pav,he is a genuine class player,in other words a SPURS type. The great Martin Chivers was useless in his first season at W.H.L but Billy Nick put a figurative arm around his shoulder and he became the most feared forward in the country. I think Pav could be the same.

Agree with you on that one. Harry seems to have a soft spot for defoe and crouch thought, seems to take them everywhere! Gudjohnsen will be happy to sit on the bench but dont blame Pav for wanting to leave.
