Birmingham boss Alex McLeish is set for a massive clear out at St Andrews in the summer, as he looks to bring in a host of big name players, according to the Mirror.

McLeish is keen to add long-term targets Roman Pavlyuchencko from Spurs and Celtic winger Aiden McGeady to his squad, despite failing to sign the pair in the recent transfer window.

Birmingham chief executive Michael Dunford has confirmed a shake up of the squad at St Andrews is imminent, telling the Mirror:

“We will gear ourselves up for what I’m sure will be significant transfer movement in the summer.

“I expect it to be quite a busy summer. There are eight or nine players likely to be leaving the club.

Eleven players could be leaving St Andrews in the summer, with Gary McSheffrey, Lee Carsley, Sebastian Larsson, Garry O’Connor, Stuart Parnaby, Kevin Phillips, Franck Queudrue, Liam Ridgewell, Maik Taylor, Gregory Vignal and Artur Krysiak all out of contract this summer. Only Ridgewell and Larsson are expected to be offered new deals by Birmingham.

Birmingham have excelled in the Premiership this season, currently occupying eighth place after winning promotion from the Championship last season.
