The word is that despite Manchester City failing to sign the player a few months ago, the situation at Seville hasn’t improved any and the player is free to recommence negotiations out of his current contract.
This will fuel speculation over Wright Phillips of course, but it’s far more likely to be a route for Manchester City to replace the failure that was Robinho

I can’t believe I’m commenting on this rumour, but has it escaped the author’s notice that Shaun Wright-Phillips is a right winger? He may have noticed this if he watched the England game the other night.
Manchester City currently have Martin Petrov, Craig Belamy, Adam Johnson and Robinho on the books, all left wingers/left midfielders, so why another one?
Unless of course he’s better than all of the above mentioned, then get him signed up!
Robinho may have his work cut out. In a Santos shirt.
