Any Chance Of A Straight Answer, Cesc???

Saturday’s Metro has a worrying story about Cesc Fabregas. Apparently, the Spanish midfield maestro and Arsenal captain, appeared in an documentary about Gerard Pique and made some remarks which suggest he’s not altogether happy at the Emirates.
It’s no secret that Fabregas wants to return to Barcelona and the quotes carried by the Metro article suggest as much. Fabregas said, ‘I’ve always said what I want and what I would like. But you know in football a lot of things can happen.’ Regular readers will know that I have often dismissed the Metro as a innocent bit of fluff to amuse office clerks on their way to work via the Tube, but even so the paper is only quoting from Fabregas himself. Could it be that the Catalan giants may finally get their man this summer?
If you ask me, Arsenal need to do one of two things to keep Fabregas.
Win the title - difficult, but not impossible. They need to start putting consistent performances together if they are to do it though, starting with a win against Liverpool. We’ve seen the Gunners play some spectacular football this season, only to undo all their good work with sloppy defending and bad goalkeeping mistakes. If they can concentrate, and United get unlucky with their last few games, then they might have a chance of keeping Fabregas.
Show Cesc They’re Serious – Some years ago, Arsenal were on the verge of losing their talismanic captain Patrick Viera. The Frenchman was tired of the lack of success at Arsenal and was considering moving on. That was until Arsene Wenger signed Sol Campbell from Spurs, at that time one of the best centre-backs in Europe. Viera was impressed with the magnitude of the signing, stayed and had one of his best seasons with the Gunners, sparking off a glut of trophy successes.
I’m not saying that Fabregas will leave in summer, but Barcelona are definitely interested. There’s already a rumour flying around that they offered Arsenal £50 million plus a couple of players for the midfielder. Wenger is contemplating a clear-out at the Emirates, in a bid to free up funds for a transfer war-chest, but it’s doubtful that Fabregas will be the first player up for sale. One things for sure, this is going to be the transfer everyone’s talking about come August.

let him go. take the money and add it to the 35 million we have in the transfer budget already. Buy some defense, a couple holding midfielders, a couple creative attacking midfielders. Van Persie has shown he can score goals and is not a frail as he once was, so lets get him the support he needs.
