£40M+ : The Bale Bid To Really Test Levy’s Resolve Is Imminent

could be on his way to the Nou Camp this summer. This comes after it emerged have scouted ’s Welsh winger no less than seven times this season, according to a report in The Mirror.

Bale, 22, was recently named in the UEFA team of  the year, along with five members of ’s team. The Welsh wizard has been outstanding this year for Tottenham, scoring nine goals and notching up seven assists as Tottenham challenge for the title.

This has not gone unnoticed by the European champions and Spurs boss may have a fight on his hands to keep his star player.

According to The Mirror’s report, the Blaugrana may be ready to test Tottenham’s resolve with a player plus cash deal worth in excess of a potential £40 million.

For the time being, Bale will be fully focussed on the task ahead at , as Tottenham aim to win their first league title in over forty years.

Something to keep Spurs’ fans at ease, if Harry said no to £40 million for Modric, it’s pretty unlikely he’ll sell Bale for that amount isn’t it?

Most of the journos on the Mirror are Gooners, yet another attempt to destabilise Spurs. Maybe they should think about their own crap side

There is no chance of Bale leaving at this stage of his career anyway, and not for the sort of money Barca are prepared to pay

Barca really aren’t in a position to pay anything like what it would take to buy Bale. No doubt they would like him,but they have other priorities, significant debts and all clubs in Spain are struggling finacially at this time

Barca don’t have 40 mil. Bale will go to Man City or Madrid, and it will cost more like 50.

So here we go again. Just like the rumours about Modric last summer, small articles are placed about a player with a suggested price—usually it is 35 million, I guess the4 latest of 40 million takes into account inflation. Then there are copious claims and counter claims about how the player is dying to leave planted in the press, hoping to destabalise the player and the club. Man Utd and Chesea wrote the textbook on this ploy, so lets all wait and see it unfold.

I’ll take a few minutes out of my life to explain to your little brain cell how transfers work. Daniel Levy recently placed a £150m price tag on Bale. This means that negotiations START at £150m and progressively work their way down. Negotiations DO NOT start at £40m and work there way up. Is that enough for your dumb schmuck of a brain cell to “capish” ? Good.

You wouldn’t speak to me in person like this, so don’t do it hidden behind a computer.

I think you’d find if anyone put a serious bid of £40-50 million for Bale, they would secure his services.
