Arsene’s Latest Transfer Target Looks Like A Dead Loss. Oh Dear…

is considering a bid for twenty-one year old Ghananian international , in a bid to solve Arsenal’s full-back woes, The Sun reports.

Arsenal’s nightmare season hasn’t been helped by severe injury problems affecting their back-line. Injuries to , and have often forced Wenger to play the likes of   and midfielder out of position.

The under-pressure Frenchman is believed to be looking at Opare to strengthen his defensive options. Opare is currently plying his trade for Belgian side , having signed from Real Madrid Castilla (Madrid’s reserve side) in July 2010.

Opare  previously had spells at Ghananian side Ashanti Gold, before spending a season in Tunisia at CS Sfaxien. The youngster has made seven appearances for his native and was in their African Cup of Nations squad, although he failed to feature.

Despite also being linked with (Peace FM Online), opinions on Opare’s ability appear mixed. Much criticised in the Belgian media after losing his place in Liege’s starting line-up, Opare has made just nine league appearances this season.

Just what Arsenal fans needed to hear, a promising player who isn’t really cutting it in Belgium could be on his way to the Emirates.

It’s about time Wenger signed some proven, quality players who can help Arsenal challenge at the highest level again. Although he tried to do this earlier in the season, Yossi Benayoun, Per Mertesacker and Mikel Arteta haven’t exactly set the Premier League alight have they?

Sort it out Arsene.

If Wenger continues to sign wc kids from Angola or African grassland,he riskd dragging the gunners to the mid table status.
The gunners need quality and proven players to slot into the senior team with immediate effect.Time is of the essence. Wc kids need time and in the hurly burly of the epl,are unlikely to get it. Worst the gunners can’t compete at the highest level and in no time Wenger will be just a memory. Anyway thanks for the memeory.

Wow, there are still fans out there that believe wenger is going to buy what we need. Our problem as a club is too many blind fools as fans.

“wc kids from Angola or African grassland”? First of all, when did you last see an Angolan at Arsenal? I can only see an Albanian, who apparently also owns a British passport. Second of all, when did Wenger last buy an unproven African player? Third of all, lack of respect toward the manager is one thing, but lack of respect toward sportspeople of a different colour or make is another.
Finally, Arsenal currently have 4 fullbacks in the squad, and only Santos is still injured. Unless Wenger sells Gibbs or Sagna (the latter seems very unlikely), there’s no need for him to “buy quality” in that particular area. Santos has played well so long as he did play at all. Perhaps you are alerted by the fact that he’s not making it now. Well, mates, sorry to say that, but he’s been injured for several months now. Sh*t happens. If Arsenal did actually buy a new player for every injury, we’d be looking at a debt-ridden League Two side right now.
