It has been a well publicised saga involving Drogba and Chelsea who have been at loggerheads over a new contract.  has been holding out for a 2 year deal with Chelsea only willing to offer the Ivorian a 1 year extension.

This has lead to Drogba opening the door to offers from other clubs with only 5 months left on his current deal. Since this move, the striker has not been short of offers.

The Daily Mail reports Drogba has already attracted interest from the mega rich Middle East having already turned down a £4m-a-year deal from Qatari side Al Saad. He has also attracted interest from Anzhi Makhachkala who are managed by former Blues boss , they are reportedly willing to offer between £8-10m-a-year in order to get the strikers signature.

There has also been interest from MLS side Chicago Fire and Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua, current club of Drogba’s former Chelsea strike partner Nicolas Anelka.

Thierno Seydi, agent of Didier Drogba has stated his client “will go where he is offered the most money”.

With talks between Chelsea and Drogba having stalled for such a long time it seems almost certain the striker is heading for the Chelsea exit door as looks to rebuild his squad with reported moves for Hulk and Cavani.

Drogba has stated on numerous occasions his desire to stay with the London club but now it seems he wants one last big payday before he retires.

Are any of the reported clubs right for a player of his calaber and are Chelsea making a mistake in letting him leave? Could he continue to play at the top level in England?

Maybe the rest of this season will answer these questions but no matter where Drogba lands next we all know they better be willing to pay ‘big’ for his services.
