Norwich Set To Finally Get Their Man

Norwich boss is looking to make it third-time lucky this summer as he prepares a £1.5 million bid for Nottingham Forest right-back The Sun reports.

Lambert has twice been unsuccessful in his attempts to bring the Welsh international to Carrow Road.

Gunter, 22, has made thirty-five appearances for his country and the full-back is expected to play in Gary Speed’s testimonial game against Costa Rica on Wednesday evening.

A product of ’s youth system, Gunter spent two seasons in the Bluebirds first team before moving to White Hart Lane. His stint in North London was a short one. Gunter made only sixteen apperances for , including seven in the Europa League.

He was then loaned out to Nottingham Forest, who went on to sign him permanently in July 2009. Gunter has since gone on to play over a century of games for Forest, earning a reputation as a solid, consistent performer.

He reached the playoffs last season, but was unable to prevent his team being knocked out by in the semi-finals. This season has been a struggle for Forest, which included an ill-fated spell with at the helm.

has been unable to steady the ship at the City Ground, and Forest find themselves in a fight to stay in England’s second tier. Whatever the fortunes of his current side are come the end of the season, a move to the Canaries would be hard to turn down.
