Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is set to wield the axe following his side’s embarrassing 4-0 defeat to AC Milan, according to The Daily Mail.

Wenger laid down the law during an explosive meeting at the club’s London Colney training ground on Thursday. Theo Walcott was the object of Wenger’s ire after the winger put in a particularly disappointing performance which saw him substituted at half-time.

Walcott’s contract expires at the end of next season and Wenger could be tempted to cash in on the England player in the summer. Other players set for the exit door include Andrei Arshavin, Marouane Chamakh, Park Chu-Young, Sebastien Squillaci and Tomas Rosicky.

So who are the three most likely Arsenal players to leave the club this summer?

 Andrei Arshavin: arrived at the club for £15million in 2009 with an excellent reputation having won every trophy possible with Zenit St. Peterburg, including the UEFA Cup in 2008. However despite a memorable four goal individual performance against Liverpool at Anfield, Arshavin has flattered to deceive at the club.

Like many Russian imports to the UK his temperament seems ill-suited to the blood and thunder of English football and his nonchalent demeanour marks him down as my first name out of the Emirates.

 Tomas Rosicky: another of Wenger’s signings that arrived at Arsenal with an impressive reputation. The Little Mozart arrived from Borussia Dortmund in 2006 after several years conducting the midfield for both club and country.

His time at Arsenal has been dominated by a series of injuries and he missed the entire 2008-09 season with a hamstring tendon injury. Since returning he has been unable to secure a regular first-team spot and at 31 is unlikely to figure in Wenger’s long-term plans.

 Nicklas Bendtner: if anybody symbolises Arsenal’s travails since winning their last trophy in 2005, it is the Danish striker. Convinced of his legendary status without ever winning a trophy, Bendtner is undoubtedly a talented prospect but his attitude epitomises why Wenger’s teams have failed to win anything for nearly seven years.

When the likes of Ashley Cole thought they were worth more money or respect, at least they had the medals to prove it. currently on loan to Sunderland, Bendtner will probably be most remembered at the club as the man who fluffed his lines in the Nou Camp.
