Would A £40M Bid From Mancini Kill Off Chelsea Interest?

is truly man of the moment right now with his 56 goals in 80 Napoli appearances he has alerted both Chelsea and Manchester City.

According to reports in the Daily Mail Chelsea have sent scouts to watch the Uruguay striker on 5 occasions this season and Manchester City boss has also been a long term admirer of the striker.

It emerged today that the strikers national team manager has urged the forward to leave Napoli if a Premier League or La Liga team come calling.

has said the striker needs to play at a higher level than he is at the moment.

“I think he will surely leave Napoli” said Tabarez “I don’t know when but he must go to England or Spain”.

Napoli paid just £14 million when they signed him from Palermo but now value him at £35 million. Which means mega rich Manchester City, Chelsea, Barcelona, and Real Madrid are favourites to compete for his signature.

However, neither Barcelona nor Real Madrid see Cavani as a priority target this summer meaning a move to the Premier League seems most likely.

The Daily Mail claim Tuttosport claimed is willing to pay £40 million in order to see of rivals in the fight for the forward.

It looks as though it will be down to the player as to his preferred destination. Will he opt for the glitz and glamour of London or instead opt for Manchester City who will surely be offering more in wages but also a team that seem more likely to challenge for honours more regularly at the moment.
