Zamparini Reveals He Would Sign Suarez, ‘Tomorrow’

French Ligue 1 leaders Paris St Germain are plotting a summer escape route for controversial Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, according to reports in the Daily Mail.
It was only a matter of time before speculation over the Uruguayan’s long-term future hit the tabloids in the midst of the controversy that surrounded his non-handshake with Patrice Evra before Liverpool’s visit to Old Trafford last weekend. The incident took tensions between English football’s two most successful clubs to an all time low, which led to Suarez making a public apology for his behaviour the following day.
PSG are now looking to take advantage of the damaging trail left behind by this lingering feud by planning a summer swoop for the 25-year-old. Since his arrival, new coach Carlo Ancelotti has been eager to add a marquee signing to his forward line and Suarez now appears to be topping his wanted list after failing with attempts to land Carlos Tevez and Alexandre Pato in the January transfer window.
The Uruguay International is now likely to be singled out by opposition fans on each of Liverpool’s away fixtures, with Anfield offering the only realistic opportunity of escape, even then, away support will be doing their utmost to unsettle the striker.
Suarez is contracted to the Reds until 2016 but PSG will be hoping Diego Lugano, one of his closest friends, can be a favourable factor in persuading his fellow countryman to join him in Paris.
The former-Ajax striker would have no shortage of offers if he became available. Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini revealed his admiration for Suarez now that the Serie A side could be on the verge of securing a significant Arab investment which would be worth an initial £165m.
“I would sign him tomorrow morning - he’s a fantastic striker. I would certainly try to educate him, but I don’t think he behaved like this because he is racist,” said Zamparini in the Daily Mail’s report.
While rumours will undoubtedly continue to circulate in the media over Suarez’s future, the man himself will surely want to repay the unquestionable support he has received from the club, his manager Kenny Dalglish, and the Reds supporters who still idolise him. Question is, have the Liverpool hierarchy had enough of the unnecessary unrest he has brought upon the club?
