Featherstone’s Wonderkids – Liverpool’s Conor Coady

In an attempt to uncover tomorrow’s talent today I will be looking up and down the country for youngsters who will soon be gracing our Grounds and Televisions at the weekend.

This week we take a trip to North, ’s training ground to be precise to take a look at the Reds teenage prodigy . After earning his first cap for under 18’s against their Polish counterparts in November. Big things are expected for the Liverpool born defender/midfield linchpin.

Coady became the first ever English captain to lift the UEFA European under 17’s Championship in the summer of 2010. Liverpool’s Academy captain broke into John McMahons reserve side and duly helped them complete a domestic Senior Cup double in the 2009/10 season.

A talented centre half Coady has also been deployed successfully as a box to box midfielder. He possesses great leadership qualities despite his tender years and has already been touted as a future Reds captain.

Bio:

Name: Conor Coady

Born: 25th February 1993, Liverpool, England

Height: 1.85m (6 ft 1 in)

Position: Defender/Midfielder

Squad Number: 35

Previous Clubs:

Appearances: 0

Goals Scored: 0

National: England under 18

Appearances: 1

Goals Scored: 0

Current Ability: 3/5

Potential Ability: 4/5

Opinion:

A massive talent for the Reds is already showing signs that he is ready for competitive first team football. Is assured in possession and combative in the tackle. If he keeps up his current form for John McMahons reserve side will definitely be knocking on the Managers door for a first team outing sooner rather than later. Has the ability to play in a few positions which will obviously aid his development, it is just a question of where his manager see’s as his best position. Would be very surprised if he doesn’t make the breakthrough within the next season. The Reds have a real Gem of a player here.
