Forest boss plans reunion with Scottish winger
The conversation has turned to the Championship now in the Football Transfer Tavern, and Colin Tattum of the Birmingham Mail has stopped by to reveal Nottingham Forest boss Alex McLeish’s latest transfer target.
McLeish is hoping to raid his former club Birmingham for Scottish international winger Chris Burke, with a £300,000 bid reportedly already being knocked back by the St. Andrews outfit.
McLeish is desperate to strengthen Nottingham Forest having only been appointed last month with the former Villa boss having managed Burke during his time at Rangers also.
Burke, 29, is out of contract in the summer, and has struggled to replicate the kind of form he showed last season under Chris Hughton. The winger was voted Blues Player of the Season as well as picking up the players-player award during the last campaign.
Current Birmingham manager Lee Clark does not want to sell, but is well aware of the budget constraints on his team and will need to let players depart before he can strengthen the squad himself.
