There has been a spring in the step of QPR fans in the Football Transfer Tavern lately after their recent upturn in fortunes under Harry Redknapp. But news today that the former Tottenham boss wants to bring Blackburn Rovers defensive duo Martin Olsson and Scott Dann has been met with a mixed reaction.

According to Mirror Football, Redknapp’s assistant Joe Jordan attended Rovers game against Brighton & Hove Albion this week to watch the two in action.

Olsson was thought to be ready to join his former Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce at West Ham but reports now suggest that the Hammers bid for the Swede had hit a brick wall.

Allardyce has already offered £2 million but Redknapp is set to gazump him with an offer closer to £3m in order to bring him to Loftus Road.

Ollson’s defensive partner Scott Dann is also on Redknapp’s radar even though he has the unwanted record of being relegated with Rovers last year and Birmingham City the season before.

Dann would be available for around £4m and could be the central defender Redknapp is searching for as he looks to replace Toronto FC bound Ryan Nelsen during January.
