Jamie Sanderson of the Metro has stopped by at the Football Transfer Tavern to tell us over a packet of peanuts that David Beckham is close to making a decision on where he will be playing his club football next following his decision to quit LA Galaxy.
It seems Becks is willing to snub a move back home to England, a big money move to China or even the much mooted move to Australia and instead remain in Europe, signing for mega-rich Paris Saint Germain. The French side have been struggling of late and sit a good way off the top of the Ligue 1 table, and it seems Carlo Ancelotti sees the former Manchester United talisman as a potential answer to his problems.
For Beckham, it presents an opportunity to play football at the highest level again, with PSG safely through to the knock-out stages of the Champions League, and alongside stellar company in players such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic too (although having the ego of Ibra and Victoria Beckham around the same club? We’ll stay well clear of that one thank you very much!)
The player had plenty of offers to choose from and it seems that a move to the French capital is a good fit for both his personal and professional life alike.
