Inter-Milans-interest-Paulinho-wants-to-stay-at-Corinthians-170630Whilst we at the Football Transfer Tavern will always be in debt to Inter Milan for finally concluding the strenuous transfer saga of Wesley Sneijder, we now have to wonder where that money will go and Gazzetta Dello Sport claim that they know where that will be.

The club have long been monitoring Corinthians’ box-to-box midfielder Paulinho who has attracted glances from all around Europe and looks set to make a move from the Brazillian side this transfer window. When asked about the player, Inter president Massimo Moratti confirmed the club could well buy but also made a point of noting that the new Financial Fair Play regulations are something the club are wary of.

He claimed “One step at a time. We’ve just done this, let’s now see what we need to do. A player like that, with his attributes, is always useful but the cost does come into it.” Clearly the president does have an eye on Paulinho calling him an ‘interesting’ player but will not be bullied by Corinthians when it comes to a price. It is thought the player would be available for around 18 million euros.

Inter are also looking to offload Philippe Coutinho who has attracted the attentions of Liverpool and Southampton and would also be able to put this money towards the acquisition of Paulinho.

Will Paulinho be winging his way into the San Siro this January? Rate this rumour below.
