Inter Milan have placed themselves right at the heart of debate here in the Football Transfer Tavern with Gazzetta Dello Sport claiming that the club have very little money this January transfer window.
In a total contradiction to only a month ago when Massimo Moratti claimed there would be no expense spared this winter in order to get back into the Champions League places, the owner has now completed a U-turn. The club now apparently cannot afford to buy anyone, backing up Juventus manager Antonio Conte’s claims that no Italian club have any money to buy.
Moratti himself was quoted as saying: “The transfer window? We aren’t in the position of being able to spend a lot of money. The same can be said about every other club. But I can say that the players we are looking to bring in are all good players.”
The Inter supremo was also asked about wantaway Wesley Sneijder and was again coy over the future of the Dutchman. However it does seem that the player will be leaving the club in search of first team football after being frozen out for most of the season due to a contractual dispute.
