We at the Football Transfer Tavern have been hearing about former Chelsea forward Didier Drogba. The forward has been gaining the attention of Sky Sports who claim the Ivorian is wanted by both AC Milan and Juventus.
Drogba is of course a Chelsea legend and has long been linked with a move to the Italian league and is “very welcome” according to AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri. The 34-year-old former Chelsea striker was nothing short of prolific during his time in the Premier League and is now the number one target for both Serie A sides.
After scoring the winning penalty in the Champions League final in Munich, Drogba has been held as one of Chelsea’s finest ever acquisitions and it seems clear that AC Milan also think so given their pursuit of the player. They are of course not the only ones interested with Juventus also in the market for a forward, taking more than a lingering glance at the player.
Drogba is of course away at the African Cup Of Nations at present with the Ivory Coast and is keen to end his Chinese nightmare at Shanghai Shenhua and would be more than keen to return to one of the big leagues and get the opportunity to play Champions League football again. Juventus will face Celtic in the Champions League knockout stages while AC Milan will face off with many people’s favourites for the trophy – Barcelona.
