Ten defenders Premier League clubs should look to recruit in January

The debate has now turned to defenders in the Football Transfer Tavern, with everyone seemingly having an opinion on what players need to be bought in to shore up Premier League back fours in the January transfer window.

Defending hasn’t exactly been the first priority in the Premier League for most teams this season. The likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City (so often water tight at the back) have all struggled for clean sheets, and there could be quite a bit of movement for these three clubs in January.

There are those who have been linked from abroad, alongside some familiar names from home who could be on the move after some contract disputes. Here we take a look at the top ten defenders who could be on the move within the next month.
