£15M Move Could Well Suit AVB Down To The Ground…

The Sun have reported that Russian midfielder, Alan Dzagoev, who excelled during the Euro’s might be on his way to Spurs for £15 million.

The 22 year old showed off his potential during the summer competition, albeit failing to come out of the group stage, as he scored 3 goals in 3 games. He was the only midfielder to score 3 goals just in the group stages but his disciplinary records are something which might turn up a few noses.

In 3 appearances during the tournament Dzagoev was brandished the yellow card twice, but surely the fatigue of the short break between games might account for these clumsy tackles?

Either way, Dzagoev has shown Europe what he can do against some difficult opposition. Of course there will be the “half-empty” readers saying “he never got to prove his talent against harder opposition” which is correct. But creativity, quick movement and shot accuracy is something which must be present originally before developing into a top Champions League player.

But how credible is this story? His Father told the media: ”I don’t know if he will stay at CSKA. There are offers — from Spurs and other foreign clubs.”

So apart from international records what else has he achieved?

He has already played in the Champions League with his club side which also highlighted his attributes. In 8 appearances, the Russian attacking midfielder scored once but assisted 3 times, a record which is very impressive.

His move would also be favoured with new Tottenham boss AVB. As well as playing in a midfield position, Dzagoev can also play on the right side of the striker, a tactic which is adored by the 34 year old manager.

With Villas-Boas said to have £70 million for his transfer window kitty and the likely departures of Modric and Van Der Vaart to replace, this target might become a new Spurs player fairly quickly.

Refresh this transfer rumour!

Would prefer it if AVB lured Hulk to Spurs from Porto but beggars can’t be choosers and I think someone in the board room misses Pavlyuchenko an awful lot ;)
