The 24-year-old Dutch international has emerged as a transfer target for the Serie A giants after impressing for the St. James’ Park club during the past few seasons and reports suggest that the San Siro outfit are preparing a £10 milllion bid to secure the Netherlands international.
Alan Pardew will be reluctant to let Krul leave given the current problems his side are faced with but a suitable replacement may be found in young England and Birmingham City keeper Jack Butland if any deal is agreed.
Butland, who featured for Team GB during the London 2012 Olympic Games, has been in impressive from the Blues in the Championship and may be available at a cut price with his club desperate to raise funds to pay off outstanding debts.
The good news for Newcastle fans is that Krul is under contract until 2017 and that could make any transfer unlikely despite continued speculation.
