AC Milan want Balotelli to replace Robinho
Mario Balotelli is always generating conversation in the Football Transfer Tavern, and Ian Ladyman of the Daily Mail believes the controversial forward could be making a move back to Italy shortly.
AC Milan are the interested party, although any move will depend on whether the club can find a buyer for former City striker Robinho during this January transfer window.
City are keen to offload their troublesome striker to fund a move for Napoli star Edinson Cavani, although they are not confident of finding anyone to meet their £20 million asking price.
Milan are interested, but only if they can make room in their squad. Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato has already been sold for £12 million to Corinthians, and they are hoping Robinho will follow shortly after falling out of favour at the San Siro.
If so, a bid for Balotelli will imminently follow despite the club president Silvio Berlusconi describing him as a ‘bad apple’ earlier this week.
Roberto Mancini has finally lost patience with the striker who he was pictured having a training ground bust up with last week.
Balotelli has failed to live up to expectations this season following some superb displays for Italy during Euro 2012, and has managed just one Premier League goal this season.
