Allardyce refusing to rule out a move for Beckham
We love a big transfer story here at the Football Transfer Tavern, and there would be few bigger than one that would include a Premier League return for David Beckham – something that Neil McLeman of The Mirror does not believe is out of the question.
West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has refused to rule out signing the former England captain for the Hammers, who was in attendance at Upton Park on Saturday to witness West Ham’s 2-2 draw with Manchester United in the FA Cup third round.
The Beckham’s have reportedly enrolled their children in a private East London school, fuelling speculation that Beckham may be about to make an emotional Premier League return.
After the FA Cup tie, when asked about the possibility of signing Beckham, Allardyce smiled and replied: “We will wait and see. You never know.”
There is no doubting the interest of West Ham, but it remains to be seen if Beckham would be willing to make the move, having previously said he would not consider playing for any other English club after his time at Manchester United.
Can you see Beckham making a return to the Premier League? Does he still have a lot to offer? Vote in our polls below.
