Today may be a Sunday but there are still plenty of rumours to go around in the Football Transfer Tavern and Caught Offside have given us a cracker involving Arsenal and an Atletico Madrid striker.
When those words are uttered of course everyone thinks of Ramadel Falcao who has been in sensational form over the last couple of seasons and is on nearly every club’s transfer wishlist this summer. Add to that the uncertain future of Adrian Lopez and most people forget Diego Costa is even at the side now placed third in the La Liga table.
Costa is only 24-years-old and has placed himself on Arsene Wenger’s radar after coming to Arsenal scouts’ attention when they were ironically tracking his team-mate Adrian Lopez. Costa has spent time on loan at Rayo Vallecano – the club that fostered the Swansea City talent that is Michu – and Costa managed to net an impressive 10 times in only 15 starts for the Liga minnows.
Now partnering Colombian international Falcao up top, Atleti fans are pretty certain it will be all change at the club in the summer and have been tracking Manchester United’s Javier Hernandez and a host of other attacking options including a possible return for Fernando Torres. Arsenal of course will have to be able to offer Costa Champions League football or a move would not be on the cards.
