Arsenal line up bid for Wigan star
Arsenal fans sat in the Football Transfer Tavern were left discussing the potential of James McCarthy after Mirror Football suggested that Arsene Wenger is ready to move for the £8 million rated Wigan Athletic midfielder.
Matt Law from the Mirror gathers punters around the pool table to outline how Wenger views the 22-year-old as the next big talent to emerge from Wigan and is preparing a January offer for the Republic of Ireland international.
However Roberto Martinez is eager to keep hold of his star midfielder, recently stating to the Mail Online: “He is already a very mature player and person, and when you consider his age, it’s quite scary to think what he can achieve,”
“It’s rare for a player so young to have such composure on the ball, but there is even more to come. He has another two steps to go to fulfil his potential, and I can guarantee he will do that, declared the Wigan manager.
“It won’t be difficult hanging on to him, because he is in the perfect place at the moment, and he knows that. He will fight to win titles and play in the Champions’ League, and when he does, we will all be very proud here. But it will only happen when it is right for him and us, and that will be a few years down the line.”
There are also suggestions that Arsenal want Montpellier captain Mapou Yanga-Mbwia and Atletico Madrid striker Adrian Lopez as Wenger seeks to guarantee another year in the top four of the Premier League.

How did you come to the conclusion that spurs are number 4 now ? What have they done ? Its less of a gap between us and them than at this stage last season and we have a game in hand and we have already beaten them 5-2 at home AGAIN we finished 3rd last season and are still in th CL so we are still the better team , we have the know how to finish above them like we always do so get a grip , the season hasn’t even finished yet !

Might like to file this nonsense away until St. Totteringhams day 2013?

Action speaks louder than voice. Wenger should do the talking by putting his hands in his pocket and bring out the cash and spend . Players are running away from us bcos his philosophy of not wanting to spend money.
