There are raised eyebrows here in Football Transfer Tavern as it is claimed by the IBTimes that Arsenal could well be about to be handed a boost in their race for Fiorentina’s Stevan Jovetic but not only that – they are also eying up Borussia Dortmund’s Robert Lewandowski to boot!
The negotiations for Jovetic are coming along nicely and Wenger is hopeful that a deal for the Montenegro inetrnational can be tied up as soon as the transfer window opens and has put aside around £20 million to complete the swoop.
Arsene Wenger is also thought to be keeping tabs on Edin Dzeko who could well leave Manchester City this summer after failing to win over Roberto Mancini despite being the top scorer at the club.
Arsenal have long been linked with striker Jovetic and a move for the player does seem to be in the pipeline. What does not seem likely is the capture of Borussia Dortmund startRobert Lewandowski who is on the radar of Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Chelsea – not to mention he is frequently linked to Manchester United.
As we all know, Arsenal have a rather large kitty by their standards to spend this summer and are looking to not just face a fight for the top four next season but also to challenge for the Premier League title meaning that they are well and truly after top notch players and all of the ones mentioned above are just that.
