lewandowski.jpgThere are raised eyebrows here in Football Transfer Tavern as it is claimed by the IBTimes that Arsenal could well be about to be handed a boost in their race for Fiorentina’s Stevan Jovetic but not only that – they are also eying up Borussia Dortmund’s Robert Lewandowski to boot!

The negotiations for Jovetic are coming along nicely and Wenger is hopeful that a deal for the Montenegro inetrnational can be tied up as soon as the transfer window opens and has put aside around £20 million to complete the swoop.

Arsene Wenger is also thought to be keeping tabs on Edin Dzeko who could well leave Manchester City this summer after failing to win over Roberto Mancini despite being the top scorer at the club.

Arsenal have long been linked with striker Jovetic and a move for the player does seem to be in the pipeline. What does not seem likely is the capture of Borussia Dortmund startRobert Lewandowski who is on the radar of  Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Chelsea – not to mention he is frequently linked to Manchester United.

As we all know, Arsenal have a rather large kitty by their standards to spend this summer and are looking to not just face a fight for the top four next season but also to challenge for the Premier League title meaning that they are well and truly after top notch players and all of the ones mentioned above are just that.

Do Arsenal stand a chance in the race for Lewandowski? How pleased would you be with the capture of Jovetic Arsenal fans? Rate this rumour below.

The question is do we want that type of CF – I’d prefer to see a ball player in the likes of Bergkamp come to the club… but one thing is for sure not another like Giroud – sell him and use the money we get – take a loss but replace with football player that can see the goal – giroud is wasteful in fron of the box and he can not lay off a ball. He is essentially a hit and run artist in the Allerdyce style of play… he should try rugby where he can hold the ball with his hands. his feet are useless.
