Arsenal loan man doesn’t crave return
In all too familiar news here at the Football Transfer Tavern there is a blow for Arsenal fans as Sky Sports claim that their on loan forward Joel Campbell has claimed he would be happy to remain in La Liga.
The forward is currently on loan at Real Betis who are having a fine season this term, sitting seventh in the Spanish top flight and could well sneak into Europe courtesy of both Madrid sides reaching the Copa del Rey final and probably the Champions League spots.
Campbell is Costa Rican born and due to work permit issues has been sent on loan to the Seville-based side and is loving life there. He claimed to eldesmarque.es that: “I feel very comfortable and have identified with the team and people of Betis.”
Not only this but the 20-year-old followed that glowing assessment up by noting that: “I love the city, and if I have to stay I am available. Hopefully we will be in Europe too.” Of course at such a young age there is plenty more to come from the player and he did admit that one day he would relish the chance to “show what he can do for a club like Arsenal,” meaning that a permanent move is probably not on the cards. A further loan spell however may well be.
