The Express claims that the club are tracking Sevilla defender Federico Fazio.
The Emirates Stadium-based club are believed to be in the market for defensive reinforcements with Bacary Sagna expected to depart while current captain Thomas Vermaelen has also been linked with an exit after a poor season.
The 26-year-old centre back is out of contract at the Roman Sanchez Pizjuan at the end of the 2014 season and that could see him available at a cut-price this summer with Arsene Wenger ready to pay around £5 million to secure the services of the Argentinian enforcer who has expressed his desire to leave Spain.
Fazio has the ability to either operate in defence or as a holding midfielder and could add much needed versatility in the Gunners backline.
Sevilla are desperate to keep hold of their star defender but given their financial issues the club could be forced to sell the player during the summer.
Arsenal are linked with so many names but is Fazio a realistic target? Rate this rumour below.
