Arsenal star set for summer exit?
Arsenal fans inside the Football Transfer Tavern have been hoping to hear stories of potential incomings at the Emirates Stadium, but Charlie Wyett of The Sun has stopped by at the bar to deliver news on a potential summer departure instead.
German forward Lukas Podolski only joined the club last summer, but is reportedly attracting interest from abroad, with both Atletico Madrid and Juventus reportedly chasing his signature.
The 27-year-old is set to miss tomorrows game with former club Bayern Munich because of injury, after starting and scoring his sides only goal in the first leg, but since then has fallen out of favour failing to start any of the last three Premier League games.
Yet he has still managed 13 goals this season despite not being a regular starter – statistics that have interested Juventus who are thought to be the favourites to tie up the deal for a fee believed to be in the region of £15 million.
They would have to offer more than the £10.9m Arsenal paid for his services last summer, whilst also being able to better his current £100,000-a-week wage packet.
Podolski looked the real deal at the start of the season, making big contributions with goals and assists although his form of late has trailed off.
He previously stated he wants to play in a more central role having often been deployed on the wing by Arsene Wenger, and both parties may fancy a switch should the right offer come in.
