We thought Wesley Sneijders future was resolved here in the Football Transfer Tavern, but Sami Mokbel of the Daily Mail has revealed the Dutchman is still hoping for a move to the Premier League, despite a move to Galatasaray appearing almost done and dusted.

The Inter Milan midfielder has made it clear that a move to England would be his preference, and has instructed his agent to try and orchestrate a last minute switch.

Sneijder’s representatives have been in talks with Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham Arsenal and Manchester City, but every club were put off by the midfielders £200,000-a-week wage demands.

He currently earns around £9 million a year at the San Siro, and his refusal to lower his wages have resulted in him being frozen out at the San Siro since the start of the season.

The move to England he desires will depend entirely on whether he is willing to take a significant pay cut.

On Wednesday it was revealed by Inter president Massimo Moratti that the club had accepted an offer from Turkish club Galatasaray, and the move was thought to be virtually done and dusted.

Galatasaray director Bulent Tulun told Turkish radio station Radyospor: “Sneijder will give us a response inside 24 hours, but in 99 per cent of these cases the transfer negotiations are already done.”

Sneijder has been at Inter since 2009 having joined from Real Madrid. In his first season he was part of Jose Mourinho’s treble winning team, and was the star for Holland in their run to the 2010 World Cup final.
