So here at the Football Transfer Tavern we have just finished discussing the future of David De Gea when the conversation moves on to Barcelona keeper Victor Valdes and the claims in Marca.

They claim that Victor Valdes decided to leave Barcelona around three months ago and is hoping for a deal to be reached with another club come the end of the season.

All of that we kind of know already, but here comes the interesting part. The Spanish keeper is keen to try life in other leagues and Marca claims that the league Valdes wants is not in fact the Bundesliga. It had been thought the keeper wanted to link back up with former manager Pep as reported by Sky Sports, yet that is not the case.

Life in the Premier League is the career change the Spaniard craves the most and it is this prospect which has provoked him to propose an end to his long-term spell at the Catalan giants. According to the Daily Mail, Barcelona are interested in prizing away Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea, and it remains to be seen whether Sir Alex Ferguson would consider replacing the former Atletico Madrid stopper with Valdes himself.

Do you think Valdes will end up in England? Vote in our polls below.
