Bayern Munich eye £40m swoop for Liverpool forward
It’s news that Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern didn’t want to hear but it comes as no surprise to hear that Luis Suarez has been linked with a move away from Anfield with Metro reporting that Bayern Munich are lining up a £40 million swoop following an initial link in Spanish publication Sport.
After the Bundesliga outfit confirmed that former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola will become their new manager during the summer, the German gaints are now looking to bring the Reds hotshot to Germany and will offer him a huge pay-rise plus Champions League football.
The Uruguayan international, who joined Liverpool in January 2010 from Ajax, is currently enjoying a superb season for the Anfield side having netted 20 goals in his 30 appearances which has attracted interest from a whole host of Champions League suitors.
The 25-year-old recently signed an extension to his deal at Anfield but with figures around the £40 million mark being speculated, it’s hard to see Liverpool holding back his progress for much longer especially if they fail to secure a Champions League place once again this term.
Reports suggest that Guardiola has made Suarez his number one transfer target with Radamel Falcao, Edinson Canvani and Edin Dzeko also catching his eye as he takes the chance to mull over his new squad at the Allianz Arena.
