Transfer news from the Championship is the talk of the Football Transfer Tavern, with sources at the BBC reporting that Blackburn Rovers are set to tie up a double loan deal.
Blackburn Rovers boss Michael Appleton is confident he can complete loan deals for QPR striker DJ Campbell and West Bromwich Albion winger Jerome Thomas, after he narrowly missed out on signing the pair on permanent deals on Thursday.
“The fact we’ve been able to attract these players gives me a lot of hope. Time just gave up on us in the end. I think we did get there, but the clock just beat us to it.
“I spoke to them late on Thursday night and they made me feel very confident that something still would be done.
“If that is the case, then hopefully we can look forward to having them back in the building next week at some point and finally getting it over the line.”
Campbell was reportedly in hot demand on deadline day, with Ipswich Town and Hull City both expressing a firm interest, although now it appears the Ewood Park-based club have won the race for his signature.
Thomas meanwhile recently ended a loan spell at Leeds United, and has been involved in West Brom’s last three matches in all competitions.
