Brazilian striker to snub Spurs interest
Leandro Damiao has been continuously linked with a move to Tottenham Hostpur in recent months but Spurs supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern were left shocked after Simon Jones of the Mail Online declared that his agent has confirmed that he is set to stay at Internacional.
The 23-year-old Brazilian was first wanted by Harry Redknapp at White Hart Lane and now Andre Villas-Boas has admitted that he would like to bring the centre forward to the club
Damiao was impressive for Brazil during the London 2012 Olympics and it was thought that Spurs had made a £15 million offer to land him.
However his agent Vinicus Prates denied that any offers had been made, saying: “I have not received any offers, I can assure you. I don’t think he will leave in January because he is happy at Internacional and under contract until 2015.”
After Emmanuel Adebayor decided to defy Spurs to represent Togo at the Africa Cup of Nations, Villas-Boas’ side look very short in attack with only England international Jermain Defoe left up front as they chase fourth place and Champions League qualification.
