Bundesliga outfit eye up move for Chelsea ace
Chelsea fans here at the Football Transfer Tavern have sat up and taken notice at the latest story from talkSPORT which claims that one of their young players could be subject to attention from Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen.
Chelsea have rather a few young talented Belgian players on their books – Eden Hazard, Romelu Lukaku and Thibaut Courtois to name a few and it is their £6.7 million signing of the 2012 January transfer window – Kevin De Bruyne who is making waves at the minute.
Leverkusen have been tracking the player who has been on loan at fellow German top flight side Werder Bremen this term and after netting six times in 26 games for what is a struggling side, he has impressed a few clubs. Having also been loaned back to Genk since joining Chelsea, the 21-year-old could well consider a move away, yet the Blues would not be so keen on letting him go permanently.
A further loan deal seems to be the most likely scenario for the player who is contracted at Stamford Bridge until 2017, yet given that Bayer CEO Wolfgang Holzhauser called the youngster a ‘very interesting man’ it seems a permanent deal may well be what the German side will push for.
