As one of our punters makes his way to the bar to take full advantage of the Friday food offers here at the Football Transfer Tavern, he shows us a player who could well have been eating away his recent feelings.
Yes the transfer window has slammed shut, and we have heard nothing other than how fans of certain clubs are feeling. We all know by now that Manchester United fans are having a hard time, and Arsenal fans are crowing about the capture of Mesut Ozil.
However, what we have managed to forget all about is the players who were linked with a move away and did not managed to get one.
The picture we are shown makes our landlord more than slightly worried about current Chelsea defender David Luiz. As he pours us the perfect pint of Guinness, he explains that after his proposed move to Barcelona didn’t come to avail, Luiz has not been the happy chappy we are normally accustomed to.
Given he has spent plenty of time on the sidelines under Jose Mourinho, it seems he has not been putting in the hours at the gym, but judging by this picture, he has been spending rather a lot of time at McDonalds instead!
The man in question in the picture above looks like he could be Luiz if he’d have eaten as many Big Mac’s as Gareth Bale cost in euros to make the switch from North London to Madrid!
As we all know, Mourinho wants nothing but the strongest and fittest (not fattest David) players in his starting eleven, and we think a lesson in laying off the fast food may be wise here!
Will David Luiz break back into the Chelsea squad and flourish under Mourinho? Let us know your thoughts below.
