Chelsea Cash To Kill Toon’s Hopes Of Landing Mathieu Debuchy?

French right back high on Roman Abramovich’s wish list, and Di Matteo probably thinks he’s ok too.

Shock news! The revelation is that Chelsea have joined the race to sign one of Europe’s most sought after players. That player is soon to be former Lille right back Mathieu Debuchy, who has impressed hugely for France thus far in this summer’s European Championships after replacing the injured Bacary Sagna.

The Mirror suggests the player could be available for as little as £6 million, and would fit the bill for a Chelsea side devoid of right backs since the departure of Jose Bosingwa.  The Champions League winners have already been linked with the likes of Gregory van der Wiel and Dani Alves, but the Frenchman would represent a far cheaper and, inturn, safer option.

Any deal would however come as a major blow to Alan Pardew and his legion of former Ligue 1 stars, as the Toon boss is thought to be keen on adding the 26 year old to his ranks to give Danny Simpson some much needed competition before he’s consigned to the bench for the entire season. Debuchy has also reportedly attracted interest from Inter Milan, but has stated his intention to decide his future after the Euro’s.

After Branislav Ivanovic revealed his desire to play more centrally next season, a move for the former Ligue 1 champion would not only make sense but would be essential to any planned title bid for Roman Abramovich’s men.

They’ve already splashed out £40 million on Eden Hazard and Marko Marin, whilst Porto striker Hulk is expected to complete his move over the coming weeks. With Debuchy and another midfielder such as Marouane Fellaini, Roberto Di Matteo might just have a longer shelf life than his predecessor, but that remains to be seen.

He’s an increddible player & he’s definately added a few credits to his resumé after impressing at the ongoing euros. So, needless to say, a lot of clubs are after his signature. I think Chelsea & Oligarch Abramovich should act fast to land him cause they face stiff competition from the likes of Newcastle for the £6m-rated French international.

What a wise signing would that be. Debuchy is a fantastic right back player with pace, overlapping runs, wonderful and precision in his crosses with a nice defencive attributes. Pls chelsea should complete this signing as soon as possible. Blues for life.

Debuchy is a nice signing if possible but I will advise RDM to persuade Ivanovic in that right back, because we have JT,LUIS and Cahil in that 5and 6and he is a good guy in that 2. If Ivan can agree it will be ok and we can bring one or two guys up from youth Team ,it won be buy, buy always when we have Academy. up blueeeees

It wl b a huge advantage if we can acquire d service of Debuchy. It will proof that the management is genuinely thinking of making the team very strong n nt just making it an attacking team with defence \"calamity\". Kudos
