The club are no stranger to buying players in this or indeed any transfer window and after a disappointing campaign in Europe so far, the Blues are looking to shake up the side.

There is no shortage of Brazilian stars at Stamford Bridge and the club are confident of securing the services of the player who is currently at Metalist Kharkiv in the Ukraine. Manchester City may have tried to scupper the deal for the £11 million rated player yet the Blues and Rafael Benitez remain confident that they will be the ones to land the player.

Sky Sports claim that a deadline has been set for a week’s time to complete the transfer of the midfielder. The 24-year-old has ‘set his heart’ on a transfer to the London club and certainly looks like being a Chelsea player soon. It may well cost an additional £2 million to secure the player and then the work permit debacle for the Brazilian can begin for the player who is not a full Brazilian international yet.
