He made waves here in the Football Transfer Tavern when he claimed that Chelsea lacked heart in the Club World Cup final and now news via Sky Sports has reached our ears that Lucas Piazon has been shipped out on loan.
Perhaps the striker’s biggest impact at Stamford Bridge so far was indeed the tirade at his fellow players after seeing little action in the Blues first team ranks. Despite only having Fernando Torres and a very out of favour Daniel Sturridge to compete with for the first half of the season, Piazon still failed to make the grade.
Neither Rafael Benitez or preferred former manager and Champions League winner Roberto Di Matteo fancied the player who has now joined La Liga outfit Malaga on loan for the rest of the season. The interim manager stated: “We have an agreement with Malaga for Lucas Piazon to go on loan there until the end of the season.”
Piazon is believed to welcome the deal given he has been at the club for a year now and has only managed to make three starts. The Brazilian is keen to experience first team football and with Malaga he will be able to do that. The La Rosaleda-based side are flying high domestically and are into the knockout stages of the Champions League.
