This week in the Football Transfer Tavern Real Madrid fans are close to breaking point, and quite frankly there is not enough tequila left. However there may be a ray of light according to Mundo Deportivo who have claimed Neymar may be on his way to the club.
Of course, president Florentino Perez is no stranger to signing players who are big names or difficult to acquire – if Real Madrid can land Figo anything is possible! After the ‘Falcao signs on a napkin’ rumour, it has now been claimed Perez is after Brazilian superstar Neymar. The player has of course been linked to Chelsea and Manchester City in recent times, but mostly to Barcelona which a few of our punters thought was something of a done deal after the 2014 World Cup.
Mundo claim that Perez is having none of this and tried to spend some ‘alone’ time with Neymar at the Ballon d’Or gala in Zurich and succeeded.
Neymar has recently claimed that a move to Barcelona is not a certainty and whilst he will remain in Brazil for the time being, a move to Europe is in the offing – and he would like to work with Pep Guardiola – who of course is now at Bayern Munich. Yet another club for Neymar to consider?
