We at the Football Transfer Tavern think that Willian has been taking lessons from transfer saga pro Wesley Sneijder given the latest article in the London Evening Standard.

The player has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, either to big spending Chelsea or to link up with his ‘friend’ Andre Villas-Boas at Spurs. However, given that the player is one of the hottest properties around in football, Shakhtar Donesk are not keen to let the player leave.

Willian however has decided to rebel against the club and has used the tried and tested tactic of failing to turn up to a training camp. Cue the club being understandably furious with the player and deciding that they would be willing to consider offers for the Brazilian.

Willian could be snapped up for around £20 million and both the aforementioned Chelsea and Spurs will be on high alert at this news. The club are of course in no financial strife and do not need to sell in order to raise funds. They did however secure the £12.4 million signing of another player on the radar of Chelsea – Taison who is remarkably similar to Willian, alluding to the fact the club are resigned to him leaving.

Who out of Chelsea and Spurs will win the battle for Willian? Vote in our polls below.
