There is disappointment in the Football Transfer Tavern with news from The Telegraph revealing that the Premier League is set to lose one of its most colourful characters.
Djibril Cisse is set to leave QPR this January, with a loan move to Qatari outfit Al-Gharafa being the likely destination.
Harry Redknapp sees the Frenchman as surplus to requirements at Loftus Road following the recent high profile capture of Marseille’s Loic Remy.
Redknapp said: “Yes if we get an offer for him. I think he is looking to move on and play.”
The Frenchman has failed to hold down a regular first team place at the West London club since his arrival a year ago from Lazio, and has managed just four goals this season.
He made an impression upon his arrival last season, either scoring or getting himself sent off in every match he played. However, QPR fans will be forever grateful for the goals he scored during that relegation run in.
Redknapp is keen to free up funds to make a move for French international midfielder Yann M’Vila, having already signed the midfielder’s fellow countryman earlier this week.
