When will these Croatians learn not to mess with Levy? It is getting painful to see Modric, and now his little friend Niko Kranjcar try to speed up a move which will see the Tottenham playmaker move to Real Madrid, after the two have pulled stunts in the last few days to pressure Levy into making the expected record sale for the club.

Not only did Kranjcar brand the Chairman a “liar” for going back on his gentleman’s agreement with Luka Modric, he also declared that ” Dynamo Kiev is bigger than Spurs.” Obviously, this isn’t a player which is going to make a homecoming anytime soon. But realistically, Niko does bring up one fair point; “To have an offer from Real Madrid is a once-in-a-career opportunity.”

Obviously it doesn’t take a genius to work out that being linked to the La Liga champions is a huge honour, especially considering their domination in the Spanish Premier League last season helped to see the club run away with the title. But whilst I wouldn’t mind Modric going to Real Madrid, I don’t think that Kranjcar has accepted that football is a business and a fee must me met before Spurs terminate his contract.

The new Dyanamo Kiev player stated, “Levy did everything to protect the interests of the club and make a profit. If you were in Luka’s shoes, you would probably do the same as him. They held me back for two years, until my new club paid what they were asking, and not a pound less.”What amazes me however is that Niko claims the club set their valuations too high, yet with 2 years less on his contract in comparison to when Spurs were first approached, after being “held back” for 2 years, their valuation was met.

If these two think player power will help Modric move to Madrid any quicker then clearly they don’t know the Tottenham chairman that well.
